How to change your email preferences
Last week John S. bought some cigars from us for a friend of his (thanks, John). At the same time, he signed up for our email program, which is how we communicate some of our best deals with our customers.
Promotional emails are not the only emails we send to clients. Every time you place an order with Thompson, you’ll receive a confirmation email. If for any reason, all or part of your order can’t be fulfilled immediately, you’ll also receive update emails. You will also receive emails from us if you put items into your shopping cart but don’t complete the purchase.
But for John, getting an email a day from us was too much. It may be for you too, which is why we offer several different email programs to choose from. Here’s how you can change your promotional email preferences in just two steps.
At the bottom of every email you receive from us is “the fine print.” It includes an “Unsubscribe” link. That’s the link you need to click to access your Email Preference page.
Once on your Email Preference page, you’ll see that you have several options for email delivery. You can choose a single weekly update or one sent just twice a month. In both these cases, you’ll receive a single email that includes the best cigar sale offer for that period.
We also offer a holiday schedule designed specifically for customers like John who are giving gifts to cigar loving friends and family. If you select this option you will only receive emails from us between Black Friday and Christmas and the two weeks prior to Father’s Day.
We always suggest that you whitelist us – especially if you’ve selected an infrequent email period – to ensure that you will receive all the emails from us that you do want. Instructions on how to do that can be found in your email client or through a web search with the query “email whitelist + your email provider.”
